In Markovic’s paintings there is no movement, everything is still, even time itself has stopped. This drama is achieved with a minimum means of expression, which is the greatest creative challenge. On discreet foundation of light - grey shades of the wall, faced one with another and corresponding with some supersensible power, masterly materialized and all of them painted in one basic tone, are objects and their ghostly shadows. In fact, specific values of Markovic's artistic poetics are founded on the impressiveness of their thus created relations.

How in essence functions the mechanism of this creative procedure can be best evidenced by the example of those objects whose reality Markovic sacrificed for the sake of paintings reality. For instance, the tripod whose legs, due to the composition structure and other effects of the painting as a whole, are extremely and unrealistically extended. Thus, a true metaphysical reality of the painting is born beneath the illusory reality of objects. Namely, the object in the plastic interpretation of the painter Miloje Markovic is placed and resolved by the procedure imminent to an icon painter, who deforms for the sake of regularity, spiritual truthfulness and persuasiveness. The results he has thus achieved warrant a recognized place for him, worthy of praise, in our contemporary art and explains the good reputation and acknowledgements he obtained.
